Klimaschutz durch alternative Brennstoffe

Die Unternehmen der U-plus-Gruppe Bautrans Umweltservice GmbH, Karlsruhe und Zehner GmbH & Co. KG, Heilbronn produzieren in ihren Anlagen Ersatzbrennstoffe. Das aus Abfällen gewonnene Produkt ersetzt Energieträger wie Kohle oder Öl in konventionellen Feuerungsanlagen in Kraftwerken sowie in der Kalk- und Zementindustrie.

Aus gemischten Gewerbeabfällen produziert der Anlagenverbund jährlich 50.000 Tonnen EBS mit genau definierten und kontrollierten Produkt-eigenschaften. Damit ist die U-plus-Gruppe seit Anfang 2007 Marktführer in der Produktion von Ersatzbrennstoffen (EBS) in Baden-Württemberg.

„Die Produktion von Ersatzbrennstoffen ist eine ökologisch nachhaltige Alternative zur thermischen Behandlung in einer Müllverbrennungsanlage. Begrenzte natürliche Ressourcen werden durch den Einsatz von EBS geschont. Mit einem regenerativen Anteil im Abfall von bis zu 45 Prozent tragen sie als Substitut für konventionelle Energieträger mit deutlich geringerem CO2-Ausstoß zum Klimaschutz bei.“, so der für die Anlagen zuständige Mitgeschäftsführer Robert Kassel, der mit dem Wechsel von Horst Dörr zur T-plus GmbH gleichzeitig ab dem 1. Mai 2007 die Gesamtverantwortung bei Zehner übernimmt.
