TRITEC – Installs the world's biggest roof-integrated PV installation on a soccer stadium

(PresseBox) (Allschwil / Basel, )
On March 18th, 2005 the roof-integrated PV installation on the soccer stadium Stade de Suisse in Berne (Switzerland) was inaugurated. TRITEC installed the world's biggest solar installation on a soccer stadium with a total power output of 855 kWp. Today, two years after the installation, the company BKW FMB Energie Ltd. commissioned the extension of the installation. Thus, TRITEC will beat its own record. The installation will be extended to a power of 1,350 kWp; this corresponds to 1,130,000 kWh a year. The Stade de Suisse is the venue of several matches of the soccer European Championship 2008.

As a specialised supplier in the Solar Technology sector, TRITEC offers an extensive range of quality products. In addition to components for grid-connected systems, these products include also all components of autonomous energy systems for road safety, signal systems, public-area lighting, for motor vehicles and for the leisure sector (marine and camping). The PV installation was awarded the Swiss and European Solar prize. The Swiss jury praised the integration method of the PV installation on a soccer stadium.
