About the moderator:
Sabine Christiansen is one of Germany’s best-known journalists and television presenters. Christiansen started her career 30 years ago in public channel television. She initially worked in the business and political editorial team before moving on to present the main German news show “Tagesthemen”. In 1998, she started her own eponymous talk show which became one of become the most influential political news debate programs across Europe in the decade that followed. Moreover, she also was the first German to host a global business program on CBNC. These and other shows were produced by her own television production company, TV 21, which she founded in 2002. She has been honored with every national and numerous international media awards. For her outstanding social engagement as a UNICEF Ambassador and the work of her own children’s foundation, she has received the highest honors in Germany, France and worldwide (named Woman Of The Year, Gorbatschow Foundation). Sabine Christiansen is a member of five supervisory boards in German companies.

The world knows Arnold Schwarzenegger as a famous bodybuilder and a Hollywood action hero, but he is also a successful businessman, generous philanthropist and California‘s 38th Governor. Schwarzenegger‘s most notable accomplishments while governor include the nation-leading Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 - a bipartisan agreement to combat global warming by reducing California‘s greenhouse gas emissions - and overhauling the state‘s workers‘ compensation system - cutting costs by more than 35 percent. In addition, Schwarzenegger was the first governor in decades to make major investments in improving California‘s aging infrastructure through his Strategic Growth Plan, helping to reduce congestion and clean the air. He established the Hydrogen Highway and Million Solar Roofs Plan, continuing his leadership in creating a greener environment.
His Highness Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi is a member of one of the ruling Royal Families in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates. He is known as the “Green Sheikh”, taking the message of sustainability to the world, activating his networks worldwide and inspiring people of all ages, religions and backgrounds. He currently serves as Environmental Advisor to the Ajman Government, CEO of Al Ihsan Charity Centre, Goodwill Ambassador of the World Green Citizen, and candidate for this year’s Earth Condominium Ambassador. He is also Chairman of the International Steering Committee for the Global Initiative towards a sustainable Iraq and honourable President of Zayed Environmental Impact Network (ZEIN) at Zayed University UAE.
Lord Nicholas Stern is the author of the seminal Review on the Economics of Climate Change and former Chief Economist at the World Bank. He is currently the IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government at the London School of Economics and Chairman of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. In addition to his role at the Grantham Institute, Lord Stern is the Director of the LSE Asia Research Centre, Director of LSE’s India Observatory and a member of the International Advisory Board of the China Investment Corporation. He has been a member and senior advisor of the following organisations: UK Green Investment Bank Advisory Group, United Nations Secretary General‘s High Level Advisory Group on Climate Finance, The High Level Group on Energy and Climate Change Advising President Barroso of the European Commission, and a Special Adviser to the Global Chairman of HSBC Bank on Economic Development & Climate Change.
