Die Kamerafamilien der 38er Serie von The Imaging Source (GigE und USB) sind mit Sonys Pregius S-Sensoren der 4. Generation ausgestattet und liefern hochauflösende, verzerrungsfreie Bilder zu einem hervorragenden Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Die Pregius S-Sensoren weisen einen kleineren Pixelabstand von 2,74 µm auf (höhere Pixeldichte), wodurch hochauflösende Sensoren auf kleineren Chips möglich sind. Zum ersten Mal hat Sony seine Global-Shutter-Sensoren mit seiner Back-Illuminated-Structure-Technologie ausgestattet, die einen breiteren Einfallswinkel ermöglicht und die Empfindlichkeit und Sättigungsleistung verbessert.
