Möve - Frottana relies on AS/RS from TGW

(PresseBox) (Wels, )
TGW wins the order to realise a tailormade material handling solution for Möve - Frottana, the renowned German manufacturer of home textiles. In the middle of the 19th century Germany's first weaving loom was put into operation in Großschönau (Saxony), where the company is headquartered. As of spring 2011 TGW's Mustang L AS/R machines will care for fully automated storage and highly ergonomic picking of terry products, bed linen and accessories there.

Due to the rapid evolution in turnover Möve - Frottana needed to invest in an automated miniload storage and retrieval system at its production and distribution facilities in Großschönau. The Austrian systems integrator TGW acts as the responsible general contractor for the project, the German logistics consultant KONLOG made the concept for it.

Möve - Frottana's new material handling solution includes a 5aisle AS/RS equipped with Mustang L stacker cranes and Combi-Telescope load handling devices to replenish the five ergonomic picking stations. Machine controls, material flow controls and the warehouse management system (WMS) for goods receiving and picking are realised with TGW's product suites.

The Mustang L is a very lightweight and fast stacker crane and can easily be adapted to the individual customer's requirements. That is why it is a very cost effective solution. This efficiency becomes even higher through the driven handover to the conveyor system, resulting in drastically reduced transfer times.

The modular software suite CI_LOG is at the heart of the new material handling solution. CI_LOG is based on the latest software technology and handles every function within the inhouse logistics chain, from goods receiving through the warehouse management to the dispatch. The large number of installations guarantees the needed experience and security for a highly flexible, customer specific application of the WMS suite.

As of spring 2011 the new logistics solution provided by TGW will care for even more efficient processes at Möve - Frottana.
