Die Größe der E-Mails selbst bewegt sich - ohne Anhang - meist im einstelligen Kilobyte-Bereich.

Daher spart man Daten, indem man statt der hochauflösenden die Standard-Variante wählt. Außerdem spielt die Länge des Videos und die Komprimierung durch den Portal-Betreiber eine Rolle. "Wer regelmäßig mit dem Handy Videos und Fotos macht und diese ins Internet stellt, sollte sie zuvor komprimieren. Einige Smartphones bieten eine solche Funktion von Haus aus an, bei anderen kann man eine entsprechende App nutzen", so der abschließende Hinweis von Alexander Kuch. Gerade bei Smartphones mit HD-Unterstützung fallen sonst schnell große Datenmengen an.
