(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
TeleTrusT Deutschland e.V. with a new CEO: starting in June 2009 Dr. Holger Muehlbauer will give the internationally focussed German competence network for IT Security a new direction and shape. Muehlbauer, with a professional background in law, wants to identify the strengths resulting from the heterogeneity of the TeleTrusT members to create an added value for the parties involved.
------------------
„Due to the heterogeneous structure of the association I will especially encourage the close interlocking between industry, research and public authorities“, explains Dr. Muehlbauer, „because our members can not find this combination in any other organization: This is an added value, representing a competitive advantage on the market.“ The operational focus of his work within the next years will be active committee work, public presence and cooperations with other organizations.

„The experience Dr. Muehlbauer has gathered in his former positions at the.German Institute for Standardization and the Austrian equivalent Austrian Standards will be of high value for TeleTrusT“ says Professor Norbert Pohlmann, Chairman of the board at TeleTrusT e.V. „Furthermore he has shown at different occasions that he does not dread public appearances, but on the contrary knows how to use them professionally in the interest of his employer.“ Through this communicative strength the organization will win visibility in the public.

After studying law Dr. Holger Muehlbauer taught as a research assistant at the informatics faculty of the TU Berlin within the department for data privacy and information law. In 1994 he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on resident registration and subsequently worked for the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Berlin. In 1995 he became managing director of the standards committee „Usability and Services“ within the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) in Berlin. In 2008 he changed to Austrian Standards in Vienna. Dr. Holger Muehlbauer held the position of a Secretary in multiple working bodies of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The former CEO Dr. Guenther Welsch has been appointed to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and will there be again dealing with IT Security. In his new position he will still remain in benevolent contact with TeleTrusT.
