BEA Systems hat nun auch von der Linux-Community Unterstützung für Apache Beehive erhalten. HP, Red Hat, JoNAS (die Open Source-Implementierung der J2EE-Spezifikation von Object Web) und Geronimo (das J2EE-Server-Projekt der Apache Software Foundation) haben Ihre Unterstützung für das erste leicht einzusetzende Open Source-Applikationsframework für die Entwicklung von Java-Anwendungen und service-orientierten Architekturen zugesagt. Apache Beehive wurde im Mai 2004 eingeführt und bietet ein Open Source-Applikationsframework, das integrierte Entwicklungsumgebungen (IDE) ergänzen kann.
