stream5 GmbH and NorCom Information Technology AG (NorCom) have entered into a strategic alliance. The partnership is centred around the integration of the stream5 video-on-demand and streaming technology into the NorCom media appliance NCPower Compact. stream5 is NorCom's co-exhibitor at the IBC stand (3.C50).
Using the stream5 technology, NCPower Compact users can avail themselves of an "integrated Internet service" as an additional feature. This is particularly useful for TV, special interest, or corporate TV broadcasters, who can use it to provide Internet television, or to integrate video functionality on their web sites. For example, given the media-neutral storage and control of the content, there can be operation of not only websites, but also mobile terminals.
In addition, NCPower Compact customers can use stream5's content delivery network, which can deliver videos to a world wide audience.
