Slovakia Steel Mills was founded in 2007 with the goal to build and operate the steelwork in Strážske, Slovakia. As a subsidiary of the Dutch company Steel Assets Management B.V., the new plant should be completed in 2010 and will then supply construction steels to customers in 12 countries on 3 continents. Experts from all over the world are involved in this demanding venture.
The quality and comprehensiveness of its solutions and its references in the area of metallurgical industry decided on the tender success of S&T Varias as solution partner. "The purpose of this project is to create an information and management system as integrating element of all business processes that will support our goal to build up Slovakia Steel Mills as a fully integrated automated production plant ", comments Ján Tušim, General Director at Slovakia Steel Mills, a.s., Strážske.
SAP and Outsourcing for success in manufacturing
S&T Varias as the main provider of the SAP based information and management system will coordinate a large number of subcontractors during the implementation ? for both application and technological areas. After that phase S&T will ensure the system continuity with an outsourcing solution during the period of 36 months from going live.
Considering the project schedule and complexity it is an ambitious project that goes beyond the typical framework of IT projects in Slovakia. As a company with rich experiences in ERP solutions and outsourcing S&T was able to present a customized project outline and service provision model that fits in the business plan of Slovakia Steel Mills.
"The winning of this mega project, one of the largest in 2009 in Slovakia, certainly strengthens the position of S&T among the market leaders. It is very challenging not only because of its comprehensiveness, but also from the perspective of project management and system integration. The decision for S&T also affirms our customers' trust in the high level services provided by our Slovakian professionals. We create values for our clients", emphasizes Christian Rosner, CEO of the S&T Group.
