With the acquisition of the former manufacturer, CFC GmbH, in mid-2015, SOLIDpower SpA, the Italian developer and manufacturer of fuel cell based m- CHP systems, has acquired the BlueGEN, a product already well-established in the market. "We can now offer the m-CHP system with the highest level of electrical efficiency on a global level," tells Guido Gummert, managing director of the SOLIDpower GmbH, founded after the acquisition. The manufacturing facility in Heinsberg counts as an important site for the development and, later, manufacturing of systems of larger size.
After more or less one year and a half, positive conclusions can be drawn: previously, 30 people were employed; now there are more than 55, and more employments are planned. "We could also retain most of the existing partners", explains Guido Gummert. "By also taking over the existing personnel, we allowed customers to easily keep control over their orders". The manufacturing of units was re-started after just a couple of months and currently, we are aiming at further exploiting the potential of our plant: by the end of the year, we should be able to reach a production capacity of 30 systems per month", commented Andreas Balllhausen, commercial director of SOLIDpower.
