This exhibition, which gathers the main actors of solar energy worldwide, is the biggest professional exhibition in Europe for solar technology.
The present edition will hit all the records, with the participation of more than 500 companies from 30 countries, and an estimate of 26.000 professional visitors from all over the world.
Sol3g will take place in the event as an exhibidor, being its first participation in INTERSOLAR. The objectives of the company for this exhibition aim at strenghtening its positioning in the marketing and introducing its latest advancements and projects in concentration photovoltaics.
Sol3g, a 100% Spanish capital and technology firm, the headquarters of which are located in the technological park named “Parc Tecnològic del Vallès” in Barcelona, is one of the first companies worldwide to sell HCPV (High Concentration Photovoltaics) systems based on triple-junction cells, having already realized several pilot installations in Denmark and Spain (Gerona, Barcelona and Sevilla) with highly encouraging results.
Sol3g’s HCPV modules include Fresnel lenses and secondaries combined with triple junction cells; they use a 476 suns optical concentration ratio – meaning they concentrate 476 times the solar irradiation onto the area of the cell – and high efficiency cells, which allows to reduce dramatically the quantity of semiconductor used. The design of the module and the components has been done giving priority to the whole system efficiency and low manufacturing costs.
The main goal of the company is to offer a real alternative to the current technology, based on silicon flat panel, thanks to a huge reduction of photovoltaic conversion costs, that may be reduced by half in a very near future.
The company plans for year 2007 aim at increasing its production capacity up to 5 MWp / year during the first two quarters of the year, as well as maintain its efforts in research and development in order to continue as a leading company worldwide.
