- Software AG übernimmt die restlichen 49 Prozent der Anteile an itCampus
Die Software AG kündigte heute den Ausbau ihres Tochterunternehmens itCampus, einer Forschungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mit Sitz in Leipzig, an. Das Unternehmen plant für 2010 die Einstellung weiterer fünfzehn Forschungsspezialisten. Darüber hinaus hat die Software AG das Unternehmen nun komplett übernommen, nachdem sie im April 2009 bereits 51 Prozent der Anteile an itCampus erworben hatte.
"Wir sehen itCampus als Innovationsschmiede", erklärte Peter Kürpick, Produktvorstand der Software AG. "Ein Großteil der hier entwickelten Technologie fließt in unser Produktportfolio ein. Wir wollen den Standort weiter ausbauen und nutzen das hervorragende innovative Wissen der Hochschulabsolventen in Leipzig und Halle."
itCampus wurde 1999 von Prof. Wolfgang Lassmann vor dem Hintergrund des wachsenden Bedarfs an Hightech-Knowhow gegründet. Er erkannte die Notwendigkeit, hier führende Köpfe in Deutschland heranzubilden und diese junge Elite im Land zu halten. "Ich kann mit einem gewissen Stolz auf unsere erfolgreichen Bemühungen zurückblicken, in Leipzig-Halle führendes Softwarewissen aufzubauen und wegweisende Technologien zu entwickeln", erklärte er. "Als ein Unternehmen des Software AG-Konzerns haben wir nun die Gewissheit, dass itCampus mit der notwendigen Finanzkraft weiter wachsen kann und die hier entwickelte Softwaretechnologie Zugang zum Weltmarkt erhält."

itCampus wird trotz der vollständigen Übernahme durch die Software AG weiterhin eigenständig agieren. Die Geschäfte werden weiterhin von Dr. Andreas Lassmann und Tobias Schmidt geführt.
