Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, today announced that it is showcasing more than a dozen Process Frameworks at Innovation World 2008, Software AG's global user conference taking place this week in Miami, Florida. Developed by Software AG and key partners, these Process Frameworks help enterprises fully-leverage the unique capabilities of the webMethods Suite to create customer-specific solutions to common business challenges. By taking advantage of these reference models, components and best practices, enterprises can dramatically reduce the time, cost and risk associated with implementing an customized, end-to-end solution.

"Traditional applications lock enterprises into a one-size-fits-all model while custom development entails potential risk and challenges in terms of sustainability. Our Process Frameworks build upon the proven components of the webMethods Suite and the flexibility of SOA and BPM to craft businessspecific solutions at a fraction of the cost or risk," said Ivo Totev, chief marketing officer, Software AG. "Each Process Framework encompasses real-world experience and best practices drawn from engagements with our global customer base. As a result, enterprises can also avoid much of the costly trial and error associated with implementing solutions independently." In fact, in an October 2007 report titled Solution Accelerators Will Disrupt the IT Services Landscape, Forrester Research writes "a detailed study of more than a dozen solution accelerators shows an average time savings of 25% to 30 % in an implementation cycle for the client."

Software AG's Process Frameworks bring together the software artifacts and proven methodologies to complement the webMethods Suite in addressing process-specific business requirements. These artifacts encompass both industry expertise and implementation best practices, and include process models, user interfaces, business rules and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) definitions. Process Frameworks are designed to make it easier and faster to take advantage of the flexibility offered by a comprehensive, best-in-class SOA/BPM platform to model, automate and improve critical business processes.

Specific Process Frameworks being showcased at Innovation World 2008 include the following:
- Order-to-Cash - By reducing their order-to-cash cycle, enterprises can minimize borrowing costs while making additional capital available to fund strategic initiatives.
- Procure-to-Pay - Helps enterprises maximize discounts, reduce fulfillment costs and ensure contract compliance by automating and monitoring their end-to-end procurement process.
- Payments - A comprehensive process model for improving straight-through processing, automating exception handling and monitoring transactions to better meet service level commitments, mitigate risk and reduce payments processing cost.
- Underwriting - Configurable business rules that automate decision making to achieve the optimal balance of efficiency and oversight.
- Product Recall - Allows enterprises to fully address the unique and too often ad hoc requirements associated with product recalls, such as reverse logistics.
- New Product Introduction - Orchestrates multiple stakeholders throughout an extended value chain to bring new products to market faster.
- Monthly/Quarterly Closing - In addition to meeting regulatory and disclosure requirements more assuredly, an accelerated closing process makes actionable information more readily available sooner.
- Employee On-boarding - Improves productivity while lowering administrative costs by automating the myriad of regulated and people-intensive processes required to bring new employees on-board.

In addition, key industry partners, including Satyam, Cognizant, Logimethods, Frontline Consulting Services, and QualitroITech, will be demonstrating at Innovation World 2008 their Process Frameworks for the webMethods Suite. These include:

- Automotive Claims Management (Satyam) - A comprehensive process model for streamlining workflow and improving utilization, and monitoring and enforcing business rule compliance.
- eCheck Processing (Cognizant) - The Electronic Check Processing (ECP) process framework facilitates the of security, speed, and efficiency of processing electronic transactions with the well-established business processes and rich legal structure of paper checks.

- Telecommunications Service Provisioning (Satyam) - Accelerates time-to-market while reducing fulfillment costs by automating the bundling and provisioning of service promotions.

Underpinning each Process Framework is the webMethods Suite, which brings together all of the capabilities needed to integrate, modernize and extend legacy systems and applications; connect more efficiently and effectively with trading partners and markets; automate, monitor and continually improve core business processes; collaboratively develop new, Web-based applications without coding;
and reconfigure existing IT assets into powerful business solutions.
