Mitchell, a 42-year-old native of the United States, will assume responsibility for worldwide sales for the “webMethods“ business division. This unit offers software for the integration of business processes based on service-oriented architectures. The webMethods division was formed as a result of the amalgamation of Software AG’s former “Crossvision” unit and the acquired webMethods. “With Dave Mitchell, we are clearly strengthening our integration software activities. And we can fully exploit the innovative potential of our acquisition,” stated Software AG CEO, Karl-Heinz Streibich.
With the new team in place, the company will dissolve the existing regional sales structure and will move forward with a focus on the two business units – Enterprise Transactions Systems (ETS) and webMethods. Each of the business units will now have its own board member for development and sales. Software AG had shifted its primary management strategy from regions to business units at the beginning of the year. Board member Alfred Pfaff will leave his post by mutual agreement with the company.
