- The ARIS platform will help them implement process excellence
- Group-wide application of the new business process management solution was tested in an extensive pilot project
- Flexibility and expandability of the integrated ARIS platform were among the decisionmaking criteria for closing the deal
Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG has selected the ARIS product family from IDS Scheer, a Software AG Group company, for implementing its Business Process Management initiative. This initiative will enable the bank to standardize its business processes in a Groupwide business model.
Liechtenstein's longest established financial institution, Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG (LLB AG), launched its Business Process Management (BPM) project in March 2009. The primary objective: to develop a Groupwide integrated banking process model. In order to do this, a suitable BPM tool needed to be identified among other things. A data gathering and evaluation phase revealed that the integrated approach of IDS Scheer's ARIS platform can fully meet all of the LLB Group's current and future needs. Covering all the phases of the process lifecycle ensures that the LLB Group will have ongoing, robust support as it continues to develop its business processes. Overlapping processes can be identified and existing synergies fully exploited.
A number of different modules from the ARIS product family will be implemented, including ARIS Business Architect, ARIS Designer, ARIS Publisher and ARIS Server. This will give the bank the greatest flexibility in modeling and optimizing its business processes.
The new system will support the LLB Group in documenting and analyzing the processes. Key indicators can be imported from ARIS structures and other source systems, and evaluated in many ways. Risks are recorded and documented directly in the processes, ensuring that ARIS also meets the diverse requirements of internal and external auditing (FINMA/FMA requirements and recommendations for internal controlling systems). Training and support will be offered on location in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to guarantee ongoing performance improvement.
"We decided to choose the ARIS platform and accompanying consulting because we were convinced by the solution's flexibility and expandability," stated Armin Heidegger, head of the LLB Group's Business Process Management project. "The option of implementing further aspects such as processoriented risk and compliance management for automated monitoring of various internal and external auditing requirements with ARIS at a later date also played a role in our decision," noted Mr. Heidegger.
