Lübeck Airport is celebrating its 100th anniversary on September 2 and 3 and would like to invite all airline and airport enthusiasts take part in the celebration. SLM Solutions Group AG is a partner on this weekend and will demonstrate the use of modern manufacturing technology in the aerospace field. The leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology from Lübeck provides insights into the application of additive manufacturing based on the selective laser melting process.

A big celebration is planned for the 100th anniversary of Lübeck Airport on September 2 and 3. There will be a great variety of small and large aircraft, civil and military ones, old and new airplanes, helicopters, gliders, UL aircraft and balloons. SLM Solutions will be there as the only manufacturer of metal-based additive machines in Schleswig-Holstein.

The visitors will be able to enjoy numerous attractions: a varied program for the whole family! The fascination of aviation can be experienced first-hand with sightseeing flights and an aircraft show, entertainment and infotainment, flight simulators, astronaut trainer and Icarus Flight Deck. The event program spans a range from past decades of aviation up to current business jets, helicopters and flying veterans, ultralight planes, gliders and hang-gliders as well as flight vehicles and information from the German military and NATO. In addition, there will be a trade and job fair by companies from the region and aerospace. The flight schools and clubs for pilot training, engine and glider planes, trikes, gyrocopters and company sports will provide a glimpse behind the scenes. Whoever wants to take off can enjoy doing such on a sightseeing flight. The SLM Solutions Group AG is continuously looking for qualified employees. SLM Solutions will present innovative SLM manufacturing technology, which is often referred to as 3D printing, to a wide audience during this enjoyable event. At the largest regional airport in Schleswig-Holstein, SLM Solutions will show the complete process chain (closed loop) of additive manufacturing with the machine SLM 280 2.0: from data generation to the melting process and all the way to powder recovery and recycling. The SLM 280 2.0 is the ideal "all-purpose system" for both R+D divisions as well as for production processes using SLM procedures. The machines provided by the SLM Solutions Group AG can help optimize both processes and production. They are not only customized to the requirements of the aerospace industry, but also minimize energy consumption while at the same time maximizing productivity.
