Exclusive at IBC 2009: DataMiner 6.0, redefining end-to-end multi-vendor network management (booth 1.A25)

(PresseBox) (Izegem, )
Skyline Communications, global leader in multi-vendor network management solutions for the IPTV, broadcast, satellite and HFC broadband industry, is launching at IBC 2009 DataMiner 6.0, which represents a major leap forward in end-to-end multi-vendor network management technology. This new release includes two major highlights, including ground-breaking consolidated service management and the already renowned user-centric DataMiner Cube user interface. This new release is slated to further fuel the year-by-year record number of operators deploying DataMiner for the end-to-end management of their operational ecosystems.

The new consolidated service management enables operators to create a comprehensive service perspective on their multi-vendor ecosystem, across any possible vendor and technology boundaries. The solution takes maximum use of existing DataMiner features and capabilities, including its real-time Service Level Agreement (SLA) management capabilities, user-definable automation for service provisioning and routing, MS Visio compliant graphical service presentations, and much more. But at the heart lays the brand new DataMiner Service Profiler, which enables operators to model virtually any possible service in any possible environment. The solution accommodates for a plethora of services, including for example services in digital headends, satellite links, terrestrial networks, MPLS networks, service quality monitoring solutions with transport stream analyzers and probes of all kinds, and much more. The solution is expected to redefine how operators can manage services across the most complex modern-day ecosystems, and to significantly increase service revenues by exploiting those ecosystems more efficiently than ever before.

DataMiner 6.0 also heralds the introduction of the already renowned DataMiner Cube. This groundbreaking new user interface is the very first in the industry applying state-of-the-art user-centric design principles and is going to redefine the way operators interact with the most complex multi-vendor ecosystems. Today, DataMiner, with over 1.250 drivers for interfacing with equipment and systems from more than 250 different industry vendors, is by far the undisputed leader in multi-vendor network management. And with deployments on all continents, DataMiner Systems manage the largest ecosystems in the industry, up to a global scale. The new DataMiner Cube UI enables those operators now to interact with their ecosystem end-to-end, faster and more efficiently than ever before with conventional user interfaces.

At IBC 2009, these new innovations will share the spotlight with the recently introduced DataMiner CPE Manager platform. Today, in an ever more competitive market, operators across different industries are in need of innovative solutions to increase visibility on their service quality, and to locate quickly any degradations and issues. By collecting key information from every individual CPE device deployed in the ecosystem (e.g. set-top boxes, cable and DSL modems, eMTAs, etc.), which easily results in millions of service delivery check points across the entire customer base, DataMiner CPE Manager creates and maintains an extremely detailed overview of the status of the entire operational ecosystem.

This data is then correlated by DataMiner CPE Manager at run-time against a comprehensive multi-dimensional network model, enabling DataMiner to locate the source of any degradation with surgical precision (e.g. on a specific street, amplifier, DSLAM, CMTS port, VOD group, etc.). The system also comes with unique self-learning intelligence, enabling it to immediately differentiate normal system behaviour and evolutions from genuine technical issues. Aside from offering operators unprecedented QoS management capabilities, DataMiner CPE Manager also generates significant added value for many other aspects of the operations, including but not limited to capacity engineering, help desk and customer support. Recently Skyline Communications also announced the deployment of this innovative platform across a staggering 2.5 million CPE devices at Telenet in Belgium, a prestigious global industry-first (read more on: http://www.skyline.be/...)

At the eve of IBC, Skyline Communications is also proud to announce again a record number of leading corporations that selected the leading DataMiner technology for the management of their operational systems, including for example Arte, Abertis Telecom, Broadcast Australia, Digita Oy, DLR, Etisalat, Hispasat, Portugal Telecom, RRSat, Skylogic, Vizada, and many more. This in addition to an ever increasing number of leading equipment and solution manufacturers that decided to standardize on this powerful open architecture multi-vendor platform, rather than continuing the deployment of a closed proprietary vendor-specific solutions.
