German Railway invests in fire protection

Smoke curtains from Simon RWA Systeme for Deutsche Bahn

(PresseBox) (Passau, )
Within only 6 month Simon RWA Systeme installed automatic and static smoke curtains into the German railway DB repairing halls in Nuremberg.

According to DIN 18232 industrial hall has to be divided in smoke zones less than 1600 m2. This was realized by using smoke curtains. To allow the crane moving automatic smoke curtains were necessary in 90 degrees angle to the cranes. Automatic smoke curtains only drop in event of fire. Alone the hall static smoke curtains were installed. Smoke curtains work together with natural smoke and heat vent systems most effective.
