Office 365 sagt „Hallo Deutschland“

Mit der Überschrift Office 365 sagt "Hallo Deutschland" hat Microsoft am 25. Januar die Verfügbarkeit von Office 365 aus deutschen Rechenzentren bekanntgegeben

Wie bereits die Azure Plattform kann nun auch O365 mit einem Preisaufschlag in einem deutschen Rechenzentrum gebucht werden. Alle im Online-Speicher abgelegten Daten unterliegen dann alleine deutschem Datenschutzrecht. Als Datentreuhänder für die Microsoft Deutschland Cloud fungiert die T-Systems International GmbH mit Sitz in Deutschland, welche von Microsoft rechtlich unabhängig ist. Der Datentreuhänder kontrolliert jeden Zugriff seitens Microsoft auf die gespeicherten Daten.

Einschränkungen bei der Zusammenarbeit oder der Kommunikation mit (internationalen) Kollegen sowie Partnern gibt es fast nicht: Deutsche Nutzer von Office 365 können problemlos mit Anwendern E-Mails austauschen oder Skype-Videokonferenzen führen, die auf andere der weltweiten Rechenzentren zugreifen. Einzig der direkte Zugriff aus dem Ausland auf per OneDrive for Business freigegebene Dateien ist nicht möglich. Das Verschicken der Dokumente per E-Mail natürlich schon. Außerdem ist die Yammer Plattform nicht in Deutschland verfügbar.
