The German Red Cross (DRK) is part of this worldwide community, which has been providing comprehensive assistance to people in conflict situations, catastrophes and health or social emergencies for over 150 years.
As one of 34 district associations in the DRK regional association of Baden-Württemberg, the DRK Kreisverband Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg e. V. (Rhine-Neckar/Heidelberg District Association) is one of the largest rescue service and welfare organisations in North Baden. It includes the fields of rescue services, social services, projects in the social sector and refugee aid, a wide range of first aid courses as well as the service and home emergency call centre.
Especially for the department of the home emergency call centre, the district association currently needs support in order to be able to guarantee the increased hygiene requirements due to the coronavirus. The home emergency call system is a service for people who want to live safely in their home environment despite age, illness or disability. Help can be called at any time via pressing the button of a small transmitter that is worn on the wrist like a wristwatch. The DRK thus offers safe and reliable care in people's own homes - twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
If a customer decides to use the home emergency call, a field staff member concludes a contract with the customer, which is then processed internally by at least four other staff members. In order to reduce contact points and thus minimise the risk of infection with the help of electronic processing, signotec has now donated two signotec Omega signature pads and the corresponding software licences to the DRK Kreisverband Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg e. V.. The signature pad is used on site to sign the contract, so that the following process can take place completely electronically. "Thanks to the great support of signotec, we are able to optimise the process in our home emergency call department.", explains Marco Herm from the project management for the digitalisation of the emergency call centre of the DRK Kreisverband Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg e. V.. "Especially in terms of hygiene, the signature solution from signotec is ideal!", he continues.
