ADAC: signotec Delta for 270 partners

With over 20 million members, the ADAC is the largest transport club in Europe. The success does not come by chance: The reliable "yellow angels" have already been the saviours in need for many drivers. In the event of damage, ADAC Plus members are entitled to a replacement car for up to seven days. Since the end of May 2019, signotec's signature solutions have supported the rapid processing of the provision of this ADAC "Clubmobile".

The General German Automobile Club e.V. (ADAC) has over 4,000 rental cars in use, in order to be able to offer its members a quick remedy in an emergency. These so-called "clubmobiles" are stationed at 270 partners throughout Germany. ADAC Plus members benefit from a period of up to seven days during which they can use the car - without a deposit.

In the event of an accident or breakdown, everything goes quickly: after the emergency call has been made to the ADAC, a towing service picks up the defective vehicle and takes the member directly to one of the ADAC partner dealers, where the replacement vehicle is handed over.

Two documents are signed by the customer and the dealer: On the one hand the rental contract and on the other hand the vehicle condition report. Since the end of May 2019, the signature has exclusively been made electronically by using signotec's signature solutions. The ADAC has provided its partners not only with the signature software, but also with the signature pad signotec Delta free of charge.

The signature field on the signotec Delta opens for signing the rental agreement. The signature software was developed by ADAC on the basis of the signotec WebSocket Pad Server, a free API for communicating signature pads from a web application. The contract can be read and scrolled via the signotec Delta in A4 width. In addition to signing the rental contract, the data protection declaration and the general terms and conditions are also displayed and checked off. Once the rental agreement has been signed, the dealer and customer view the rental vehicle, whereby the dealer takes photos of the vehicle directly via a separate tablet. A special highlight: The customer signs the vehicle condition report on the tablet directly "on site" at the vehicle. Both the rental agreement and the vehicle condition report are automatically transferred to the ADAC administration software and archived once the electronic signature has been completed. The signed contracts are also sent by e-mail to the customer and the partner as a PDF file.

Sebastian Wegert, IT project coordinator & DS coordinator at ADAC Autovermietung GmbH, explains: "Before using the signotec solutions, all contracts were printed out, signed and sent by post to an external service provider who scanned and indexed the documents manually. Due to this massive cost saving, the acquisition costs of the signature pads pay for themselves in the shortest possible time". Wegert is also highly satisfied with the logistical service for the delivery of the pads: "Here signotec delivered so fast, it was almost sound velocity".

The ADAC partner companies were thoroughly trained before introducing the signature solutions. After a successful pilot phase with five partners, the solution went live at the end of May 2019 and has since been rolled out to all partners.
