Multi Panels with high performance, brilliant display and new software PLC

(PresseBox) (Fürth, )
The new Multi Panels 377 from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) are equipped with a 64k color TFT display for brilliant color reproduction. The performance data have been significantly improved compared to the previous MP370 models. The Multi Panels 377 are particularly suitable for use of the Simatic WinAC MP2007 software PLC, and therefore also solve complex control and visualization tasks in one device. The MP377 is available in 12, 15 and 19 inch versions with touchscreen and in a 12 inch version with key operation. The Multi Panels 377 have two Profinet ports and two USB 2.0 ports for connecting I/O devices such as memory sticks, mouse, keyboard, printer and hard disks. The 12-MB user memory can be expanded via the multimedia card slot or CF card slot, for example for archives or recipe data. A retentive message buffer has been additionally integrated; this does not require a battery, and is therefore completely maintenance-free. Equipped with the powerful Windows CE 5.0 operating system and integral Microsoft Media Player, the new Multi Panels 377 are now also suitable for multimedia applications, for example the playing of videos. Internet sites can be displayed using Internet Explorer 5.5 for Pocket PC, and Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PDF documents can be displayed using the Microsoft Viewer. Configuration is carried out using the Simatic WinCC flexible 2007 Standard engineering software. Using WinCC flexible options, for example Sm@rtService, Sm@rtAccess, OPC-Server, ProAgent and Audit, it is possible to extend the functionality of the Multi Panels 377 even further.

The panels are suitable for use of the new Simatic WinAC MP2007 software PLC, which is simply configured like the other software controllers in Step7. The retentive feature integrated in the software PLC retains the process data even when there is an interruption in the power supply. Simatic WinAC MP2007, which can also be used with the Multi Panels 277, is suitable for complex processes where control and visualization tasks have to be solved on one device.
