SFC Energy receives another German Bundeswehr defense order, for vehicle-based and stationary power supplies

(PresseBox) (Brunnthal / Munich, Germany, )
  • German Bundeswehr buys EMILY 2200 fuel cell systems; total order amount: approx. EUR 0.86 million.
  • Systems already delivered in December 2017.
  • The order represents repeat business for SFC Energy following the successful deployment of the fuel cell by German Bundeswehr in December 2011.
SFC Energy AG (F3C:DE, ISIN: DE0007568578), a leading provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets, announces receipt of an order of the Bundeswehr’s Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technologies and Usage (BAAINBw) for supplying off-grid power to devices on board of defense vehicles and to soldiers in the field. The order has a volume of approx. EUR 0.86 million and is the second order to SFC Energy by the BAAINBw following the EUR 3.6 million order received on December 12, 2017.

The order is another follow-up order for EMILY 2200 fuel cell systems, following their successful deployment by BAAINBw in December 2011. At that point, EMILY 2200 had been also assigned a NATO stock number (NSN). As of today, it still is the only fuel cell in Germany to have achieved this high level of standardization.

“This is an important order for our Company: Another follow-up order, it clearly demonstrates the many decisive advantages our EMILY 2200 fuel cell system brings to German Bundeswehr missions”, says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. “Our highly efficient, silent, environmentally friendly power generator provides reliable power to electric and electronic defense devices in the field – anywhere and anytime, vehicle-based, stationary, or as a battery charger. We are very proud to contribute to more soldier safety, flexibility and mobility with our products. The success of our products in German Bundeswehr applications is a strong positive signal for our international business activities.”

The EMILY 2200 system was specifically developed to meet demanding requirements in defense applications. It fully complies with military standards.

Numerous international NATO and PfP defense organizations use SFC Energy fuel cell products. SFC fuel cell and accessory products carry a NATO stock number and are approved for air transport according to UN3473.
