Mit dem TS19702 präsentiert Taiwan Semiconductor einen neuen PWM-Controller basierend auf einer Average-Current-Mode-Regler-Topologie mit fester Schaltfrequenz. Das Bauteil zeichnet sich durch einen hohen Integrationsgrad bei geringer Stromaufnahme in der Anlaufphase (typ. 8 µA) aus. Seine Funktionen ermöglichen dem LED-Treiber einen hohen Grad an Stabilität des Ausgangsstroms, einen durchschnittliche Wirkungsgrad von > 85 % sowie einen hohen Leistungsfaktor von > 0,9 bei 264 Vac / 50 Hz. Weiterhin besitzt der Treiber integrierte Funktionen gegen Kurzschluss, Leerlauf und Übertemperatur. Um den externen MOSFET vor Überspannungen der Versorgungsspannung zu schützen, ist der Output Pin des TS19702 auf 15 V begrenzt. Das einfache Referenz-Design des Treibers mit geringer Zahl an externen Komponenten trägt signifikant zur Minimierung der Gesamtsystemkosten (BOM) bei, und macht den Treiber besonders interessant für die Anwendung in E27, T5 und T8 Leuchtmitteln. Das Bauteil ist im halogenfreien SOT-26 Gehäuse unter der Bestellbezeichnung TS19702CX6 RFG erhältlich.
