Die Serie MK02 ist momentan die einzige Sensorserie von Meder, die wie ein Metalldetektor arbeitet. Diese Sensoren haben ein patentiertes Design, welches zur Erkennung von magnetisch leitenden Metallen dient. Aufgrund dieses Designs entfällt die Notwendigkeit eines Permanentmagneten, wie er in konventionellen Schaltungen verwendet wird, um den Reedschalter zu betätigen. Da diese Metallerkennungssensoren keinen Strom benötigen um zu arbeiten, sind sie eine exzellente Alternative zu induktiven Nährungssensoren.
Ob Schraubflanschmontage mit Kabel oder Leiterplattenmontage, es kann zwischen zwei Annäherungsrichtungen gewählt werden: von der (Vorder-)Seite oder oberhalb des Sensors.
Standardmäßig sind Ausführungen mit Schliesser- (SPST / Form A) oder Öffner-Kontakt (SPST / Form B) lieferbar und es können Leistungen bis 10 W bei maximal 170 VDC bzw. 0,5 A geschaltet werden.
Die MK02 Sensoren sind ausgezeichnete Näherungssensoren, die aufgrund Ihrer robusten Bauweise für verschiedenste Sicherheitsanwendungen verwendet werden können. Neben dem industriellen Einsatz, wie z.B. zur Überwachung im Anlagen- und Nutzfahrzeugbau oder zur Endlagenüberwachung, eignen sich die MK02-Sensoren für den Einsatz in der Alarmtechnik und für die Überwachung von Brandschutztüren.
