Während jede der 30 antretenden Parteien unter mindestens einer Domain im Internet vertreten ist – wenn auch die verwendeten Domains nicht immer optimal sind –, sieht es mit der Nutzung des Web 2.0 noch ganz anders aus. Elf Splitterparteien nutzen die modernen Möglichkeiten gar nicht. Die sechs großen Parteien (CDU, CSU, SPD, FDP, Linke, Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen) haben immerhin bereits StudiVZ für sich entdeckt. Außer der CSU sind alle auch auf Youtube zu finden, CSU und FDP bieten zudem RSS-Feeds an.
Youtube bei Parteien besonders beliebt
Am besten aufgestellt sind die Piratenpartei Deutschland sowie die Partei für Soziale Gleichheit (PSG). So gehören zum Portfolio der Letztgenannten neben Youtube und StudiVZ auch Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, Lokalisten und Flickr. Die Piratenpartei wiederum nutzt ein Partei-Blog und persönliche Blogs, Twitter, RSS-Feeds und Wikis. Überdies hat die Piratenpartei sogar eine eigene Kampagnendomain: http://www.klarmachen-zum-aendern.de .
Von allen am meisten genutzt wird Youtube – nämlich von 17 der antretenden Parteien. Mit deutlichem Abstand folgen StudiVZ und RSS-Feeds (jeweils sieben), vier Parteien twittern.
