Die Registrierungsstelle der info-domains wird bisher gesperrte info-domains mit Ein-und Zwei-Zeichen vergeben. Einen Antrag der Registrierungsstelle hat ICANN kürzlich bewilligt. Damit wird für Interessenten der Weg frei für den Erwerb von attraktiven Kurzdomains, die besonders von Unternehmen begehrt werden, die bereits durch ein Kürzel(acronym) wie DB
bekannt sind.

Bis zum 30. April kann sich jedermann mit einem Brief um eine oder mehrere Kurz-Domains bewerben. Er muss im Brief erklären, auf welche Weise die Nutzung der gewünschten info-domain geeignet ist, die Marke .info zu fördern.

Interessenten können ICANN Registrar Secura (secura@domainregistry.de) kontaktieren, um Unterstützung bei der Ausarbeitung einer Bewerbung zu erhalten.
