Secure Login
Secure Login provides secure Single Sign-On and total landscape encryption for SAP supporting a variety of different authentication mechanisms including Active Directory, LDAP, SAP-ID, RADIUS, RSA SecurID®, SQL DB, and even smart cards.
Secure Login is tightly integrated into SAP by making use of its Secure Network Communications (SNC) framework and by fully supporting SAP’s Cryptographic Library (SAPCryptolib) which means that no third party or SECUDE components need to be installed on the SAP server. However, SECUDE also provides its own cryptographic library which has some advanced features the SAP library does not have.
Secure Login is based on industry standards such as X.509 and Kerberos, and supports all available SAP user interfaces including SAPGUI, Enterprise Portal, Business Explorer, Business Objects and others.
Secure Login’s benefits are obvious in terms of cost reduction due to the elimination of multiple SAP passwords, thus reducing help desk calls from users and in increased productivity due to no interruption by repeated username/password dialogs.
New features and their benefits
The new Secure Login Client 5.0 adds the following new features and benefits:
• Support for Microsoft Windows 7: Windows 7 in 32bit and 64bit is supported in this version.
• Ability to hide/replace SECUDE logo in clients’ UI: This ability allows customized branding of the Secure Login Client as it is now possible to replace or completely hide the SECUDE logo in GUI allowing the client to look like a corporate (internal) application.
• Ability to completely hide the SECUDE client from the end user: This feature allows the Secure Login Client icon in the system tray to be turned off for even better transparency.
• Ability to allow optional automatic enrollment when the Secure Login Client starts: It is possible to perform an automatic enrollment for Secure Login security profiles when the Secure Login Client is started. This feature enables Secure Login support for Internet Explorer without further manual login and without integration of the Secure Login ActiveX into the Webpage.
• Customization of SNC error messages: Through this feature, all error messages shown by Secure Login Client’s error message dialog during SNC negotiation can now be customized.
Compatibility
Secure Login Client 5.0 is fully compatible to Secure Login 4.x which means a mixed environment of 4.2 and 5.0 clients is possible.
