SECUDE Releases Vista support for Hardware- or Software-based Full Disk Encryption

FinallySecure 9.2 Enterprise adds Vista support to the only Full Disk Encryption solution which functions with both software- and hardware-based FDE.

(PresseBox) (Zurich, Switzerland, )
SECUDE International AG announces the release of FinallySecure™ 9.2 Enterprise with Vista support and Centralized Management. FinallySecure is the world’s only hybrid software– or hardware– based Full Disk Encryption. FinallySecure enables early adoption and migration to the upcoming wave of hardware–based FDE technologies such as Seagate Momentus Full Disk Encryption (FDE) disk drives.

As enterprises overcome their reluctance to switch from Windows XP to Vista, they are searching for solutions to maintain their data security. While some have chosen to opt for Microsoft’s own encryption technology, this does not offer a way to simultaneously manage encryption solutions already installed in XP. FinallySecure offers seamless migration and central management for computers running XP or Vista with no difference in functionality or security.

“Data encryption has become an accepted part of Risk Management for companies, but managing the hurdles of technology migration is often overlooked as a quantifiable business risk,” says Tristan Kromer, Vice President of Data Protection Division. “Migrating from one operating system to the next or one hardware platform to the next, can pose substantial vulnerability problems as IT administrators struggle to provide complete security coverage which complies with government legislation.”

FinallySecure 9.2 Enterprise with centralized management fulfills critical business needs by allowing customer migration not only within the Windows world, but with regards to the next generation of hardware-based Full Disk Encryption hard disk drives being created by Seagate, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and others. Partnering with hardware vendors for encryption unlocks advantages such as increased performance, secure cryptographic erase functionalities, and advanced key management.

Customers can close the legacy gap between old operating systems and new hardware by deploying one solution designed to meet rigorous data protections compliance standards while providing a greater experience for users and IT administrators.

FinallySecure allows businesses to survive, adapt and grow in a heterogeneous IT eco-system.
