Gemeinsam mit Verbänden wie VDMA, ZVEI und Bitkom sowie 19 Unternehmen aus der Maschinenbau- und Elektroindustrie hat Schneider Electric die „Industrial Digital Twin Association“ (IDTA) ins Leben gerufen. So sollen die Entwicklungen zum industriellen Digitalen Zwilling der einzelnen Mitglieder zu einem einzigen schlagkräftigen Entwicklungsstrang zusammengeführt und als Open-Source-Lösung gemeinsam vorangetrieben werden. Kosten, Zeit und Prozesse lassen sich einsparen, was zu einem schnelleren und besseren Ergebnis für den Anwender führt.

Digitaler Zwilling als Treiber für Industrie 4.0

Der digitale Zwilling ermöglicht ein virtuelles Abbild bestehender und noch zu errichtender Produktionsanlagen und Infrastrukturkomponenten. Dies sorgt dafür, dass alle Auswirkungen von Anpassungen der betriebsrelevanten Parameter oder Rahmenbedingungen sowohl vor Errichtung der Anlagen, als auch im laufenden Betrieb jederzeit virtuell erprobt werden können. Bei positiven Ergebnissen können diese dann in die reale Welt übertragen und in die weitere Entwicklung einbezogen werden.
