Presentations held by Jürgen K. Heller (CEO Schmid Technology Systems), Wolfgang Müller (Schmid Sales Manager Turnkey Module Lines), Chris Sandfort (Product Manager Solar Module Technology), Pietro Milano (PV Key Account Manager Europe Schmid Group), Sahin Bostan (CEO PV Teknik), Prof. Dr. Sener Oktik (University of Mugla) and Prof. Dr. Necdet Aslan (University of Yeditepe) examined such topics as PV technologies, the latest developments in production equipment and the industry's prospects in Turkey.
In addition to its special geographical location, which guarantees Turkey the best potential for solar energy after Spain, the introduction of the Energy Feed-In Act is also expected shortly. Turkey's enormous potential for assuming a leading role in the photovoltaics industry is reflected in the overwhelming interest demonstrated by investors and longstanding Schmid clients. As confirmed by Prof. Dr. Oktik's observations, the Turkish PV industry is currently all set and ready to begin production, especially of modules, as became increasingly evident during the numerous conversations between the 50 guests on the second day of the seminar.
The partnership between Schmid and PV Teknik offers the best conditions for optimum utilisation of the growing PV market in Turkey. Schmid provides technologies and turnkey solutions for all production process stages from sand to module and, as global PV leader, has teamed up with an excellently organised local partner: PV Teknik has headquarters in Bodrum, offices in Istanbul and a long track record in solar technology. As a strong Schmid partner, PV Teknik will take care of activities in Turkey and is currently in the process of recruiting and organising its service staff.
