During the visit of the German business delegation in Beijing under the leadership of Germans minster of economics Rainer Bruederle the companies Gebr. Schmid and Schmid Silicon Technology could underline their leading position in the photovoltaic equipment business by signing strategic, long term cooperation agreements with the three leading Chinese companies Guodian Electronics Group, Sanmenxia Dijiu Mining and DMEGC - Group.

The total volume of the agreements which are covering investments throughout the whole value chain of the photovoltaic starting from polysilicon production through solar wafer and solar cell to solar module production amounts to about 2 Billion Euro out of which 200 Million Euro could be already signed as firm contracts in the first step.

These agreements are also including the supply of turnkey factories for the production of Polysilcon by using the revolutionary monosilan technology.

This is a new milestone in the history of Schmid Silicon Technology due to the fact that the Polysilicon production step still offers a high potential of cost down possibilities, bringing the PV industry closer to grid parity.

In parallel to the agreements for the expansion of production capacities it was also important for Schmid to expand the technology centre structure within China - the biggest market worldwide for photovoltaic production technologies.
