Sidestepping Challenging Laser Welding Applications in the US
Blackbird Robotics opens a Remote Welding Laboratory in Detroit
On July 29, 2016 Blackbird Robotics inaugurated with a grand opening event its new premises in Sterling Heights. The attendees could not only visit and examine the new remote welding applications laboratory but were given an overview of the latest unique technology advances in Blackbird’s product range of 2D and 3D scan heads, controls and seam finding and tracking solutions. To make best practice ‘touchable’ also an exhibition of sample parts from production applications was presented, covering a variety of industrial segments such as battery welding, automotive seating, exhaust systems and door assemblies.
“We have been able to support our customers with local service engineers since the opening of our office in Michigan in 2014. Now that we have the infrastructure in place, we can also provide local training and application support. The next step will be providing selected repair and maintenance measures“ describes Tim Morris, VP of Sales and Service for Blackbird Robotics, Inc., the avail of the new laboratory.
