"Across Europe, demand continues to be strong for Sapient s unique blend of interactive marketing capabilities and consulting services," said Hasselblad. "Our continued expansion indicates that we are fulfilling this growing demand with the right approach, deep industry expertise and experienced people to deliver outstanding results for our clients worldwide. In the Nordic region, we are already helping clients with business and IT strategy, design and implementation of large scale mission critical programs, digital marketing and e-commerce initiatives."
Since Sapient opened its European operations in 1998, the Company has developed a reputation for delivering excellent business results to large European companies, such as BSkyB, Vodafone, TimesOnline and Sony Playstation.
Sapient recently developed a brand new e-commerce website for Scandic Hotels -- acquired in 2007 by the risk management company EQT from Hilton International - to boost online bookings by introducing simpler interactive functions and a focus on relevant and travel-related information.
"Our key objective has been to make things easier for repeat business customers by considerably shortening the booking process," said Johan Michelson, Scandic s Director of Marketing. "The website is by far the most important marketing and booking channel for us, as it enables us to quickly communicate with our guests in a very cost-effective way," he said.
"The Nordic region is an important market for us because it is home to several large multi-national companies, which are typically early adopters and drivers of innovative IT and interactive solutions," said Dr. Christian Oversohl, managing director and vice president of Sapient Europe. "Our client portfolio already includes nine Nordic clients, including Scandic Hotels, Sectra, Ellos and SCA Packing. Under Marcus leadership, the new Stockholm office will help us to better serve these clients, as well as drive further momentum in the region."
As managing director of the Stockholm office, Hasselblad will use his extensive e-commerce, IT and management experience to oversee business development and guide the overall operations of the office. Prior to heading the Stockholm operations for Sapient, Hasselblad held executive positions at Sapient s Munich and Düsseldorf, Germany offices.
