SAP Unveils Online Marketplace for Sustainability Solutions from SAP and Partners

New Sustainability Area on SAP(R) EcoHub Solution Marketplace Builds on SAP Sustainability Map; Enables Customers to Easily Identify SAP and Partner Solutions and Services that Support Sustainability Needs

(PresseBox) (Vienna, )
SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) unveiled an interactive sustainability map for the SAP® EcoHub solution marketplace, providing a clear view of the ecosystem of sustainability and "Green IT" solutions and services available from SAP and its partners. The sustainability area of the SAP EcoHub site is a natural outgrowth of SAP's strategic focus on sustainability and demonstrates the strong and growing sustainability partner ecosystem. By simply clicking on defined areas in the SAP sustainability map within SAP EcoHub, customers can easily discover, evaluate and buy sustainability solutions and services from SAP and its partners. The announcement was made at SAP® TechEd 2009, the company's largest ecosystem education event, being held October 27-29 in Vienna, Austria.

SAP announced its long-term, strategic focus on sustainability in March 2009, covering both its own operations and customer solutions for more sustainable business practices (see "SAP Increases Focus on Sustainable Business"). To help customers address their sustainability needs, SAP and its partners, including Atos Origin, Carbon Development Project, CSC, Deloitte Consulting LLP, ENFOS, IBM, Linx/AS, Nakisa, NetApp, Prologa, SmartOps, StreamServe, TechniData and VMware, continue to develop and bring products and services to market that address business processes outlined on the SAP sustainability map announced in May 2009 (see "SAP Unveils Interactive Sustainability Report"). The online sustainability marketplace on SAP EcoHub is designed to help customers easily identify the solutions and services available to help them to support a sustainability strategy. The marketplace provides an integrated view of the SAP solutions and complementary partner products and services that manage risks and opportunities around sustainability.

Partner Support Provides Customers a Comprehensive Sustainability Offering

The business processes highlighted in the sustainability map reflect the input of many customers and sustainability thought leaders, illustrating the 'outside-in' approach SAP took when developing the map. Customers' needs are at the core of this approach, and the SAP ecosystem is actively engaged in addressing these needs.

"Information technology is becoming recognized as an essential enabler of sustainability efforts throughout enterprises in every industry and sector," said Lee Dittmar, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP. "We have observed more and more frequently that the CIO's agenda includes providing technology to manage and report on enterprise-wide energy use and carbon emissions, and determining how information technology can serve as the foundational platform to manage corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives. SAP's focus on solutions for enterprise sustainability should contribute to the increasingly important role technology is playing in the design and execution of efficient and effective sustainability programs. We are pleased to be collaborating with SAP to develop and deliver solutions and services customers to help them manage their sustainability programs."

The SAP sustainability map on SAP EcoHub brings a wide range of information together in one place, making it easier for customers to research partner solutions and services. The integration of content discussions and feedback from the SAP® Community Network online communities on SAP EcoHub gives customers a holistic view of the solutions they are evaluating. Clear and easy access to an ecosystem of partner solutions and services that complement existing IT landscapes helps maximize SAP investments to support current and future sustainability efforts.

"For over 10 years, StreamServe and SAP have shared a strong partnership in developing integrated solutions that meet the dynamic billing and customer communications needs of today's businesses," said Dennis Ladd, chief executive officer, StreamServe, Inc. "In addition, we share a great commitment to expanding corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability. The SAP sustainability map and SAP EcoHub are valuable solutions for helping environmentally minded customers obtain further information, provide feedback and take the next step in evaluating new solutions for expanding their SAP-based investments."

"SAP has an unwavering focus on our own and our customers' sustainability goals," said Peter Graf, chief sustainability officer and executive vice president, Sustainability Solutions, SAP AG. "We firmly believe in the power of our ecosystem as an accelerator of innovation and customer value around the topic of sustainability. Today's announcement is an indication of strong support from our partners for SAP's sustainability map and strategy. For our customers, SAP EcoHub is a powerful resource that brings together SAP and complementary partner solutions and services. SAP and partners deliver solutions that help our joint customers minimize risks and maximize opportunities as they execute their sustainability initiatives."

SAP EcoHub Enhancements Deliver More Value to Customers

As announced at SAP TechEd 2009 Phoenix, SAP EcoHub was recently expanded to include service partner offerings from its vast network of partners with coverage across industries, regions and lines of business (see "SAP® EcoHub Expands to Include Service Partner Offerings"). Customers now have even more options from which to choose when selecting partner solutions and services. And, because finding the right fit is critical, SAP EcoHub provides a single resource to easily search partners by solution, industry, line of business or region. More than just an online marketplace, SAP EcoHub integrates content discussions and feedback from the SAP Community Network, giving customers a holistic view of the solutions they are evaluating.
