SAP(R) Midmarket Customers to Gain Improved Visibility Through Tightly Integrated SAP(R) Business Objects(TM) Solutions

Planned Enhancements to SAP(R) Business All-in-One Solutions are Intended to Provide Affordable and Pre-Configured Business Intelligence Capabilities and Data Migration Tools for Midsized Companies

(PresseBox) (Hannover, )
Continuing to expand its SAP® Business All-in-One solution, SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced plans to integrate pre-configured SAP® BusinessObjects(TM) solutions into SAP Business All-in-One solutions. As part of these enhancements, business intelligence functionality from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio is intended to be included in SAP Business All-in-One, providing customers with instant access to trusted and timely data. In addition, SAP plans to help reduce project risks and speed the implementation of SAP solutions based on SAP BusinessObjects data migration tools. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2009, the world's leading information technology show, being held in Hannover, Germany, March 3-8.

Business Intelligence Capabilities Planned for SAP Business All-in-One

Transparency is imperative for midsize companies today; as they grow in size, they also increase the number of reporting tools and applications, which creates multiple and inconsistent views of their business. To provide midsize customers visibility into operational data, the SAP Business All-in-One solution intends to have included pre-built reports and dashboards from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio. The new BI functionality is intended to support customers to look at trends and variances, thus enabling them to base business decisions on data-driven facts. With content and best practices specific for the needs of midsize companies, customers are enabled to deploy their solutions more quickly, see a faster return on investment (ROI) and lower implementation, training, support and administrative costs.

The BI functionality planned to be included in SAP Business All-in-One is intended to be available through SAP and SAP channel partners later in the year 2009. The initial roll-out countries currently envisioned are Brazil, Germany and the United States, with plans to add more countries over time.

The integration of SAP® BusinessObjects(TM) (BI) solutions with SAP Business All-in-One is expected to allow customers to perform ad hoc query and analysis - giving them better insight into performance data and business trends. The comprehensive solution is planned to give midsize companies a compelling up-to-date BI functionality to enable them to meet all their needs and drive improved decision-making based on accurate information to improve sales, financial and operational processes.

"With today's challenging economy, it's critical that midsize companies have increased visibility and the flexibility required to respond to changing environments in real time," said Robert Vetter, senior vice president, SME Global Business Development and SAP Business All-in-One Go-to-Market, SAP AG. "By combining SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions with our business applications specifically addressing demands of midsize companies, we will provide an offering that will help our customers effectively and efficiently manage their business operation."

Reduced Risk and Cost of Data Migration for SAP Business All-in-One Customers

In today's challenging market, companies need their IT investments up and running quickly to utilize solutions that help them run their business and address operational needs immediately. With plans to provide SAP BusinessObjects data migration tools to partners and thus further support them in their customer projects, SAP enables customers and partners to reduce risks and costs migrating data from old systems into SAP Business All-in-One. At the same time, the data migration tools expect to assure that the SAP Business All-in-One system goes live with the right data.

The data migration tool is intended to support the full cycle of data migration needs from extracting, mapping, validation, loading and reconciling data across an organization. In addition, it is planned to help reduce the risk of project delays, as well as resources and time invested in the data migration process.

This data integration tool is also planned to be accompanied by the SAP® Best Practices for Data Migration package, which offers pre-built content to accelerate development or implementation projects with plans to provide pre-configured processes as well as detailed guidelines and validation content for a number of data objects commonly required by most companies. In addition, the best practices package is planned to include pre-configured content for a broad set of master and transactional data objects that are the foundation for the professional services, discrete and process, consumer products and wholesale industries.

The data migration offering for SAP Business All-in-One is currently scheduled to be available to partners exclusively later in 2009. The initial roll-out countries currently envisioned are Germany and the United States, with plans to add additional countries.

By leveraging SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions and data migration tools, as well as CRM functionality as announced in May 2008 (see press release, titled "SAP Empowers Midsize Companies to Deliver Superior Customer Value"), SAP is planning to continue to enlarge its footprint of SAP Business All-in-One from a pure enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to a full business offering dedicated to midsize companies.
