SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), a global leader in flash memory storage solutions, today announced that it has appointed D. Scott Mercer to its board of directors. Mr. Mercer brings to SanDisk more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, in both senior executive and board positions.

Mr. Mercer also currently serves as a Director of Polycom, Inc. and QLogic Corporation. Previously, Mr. Mercer was the Chief Executive Officer, Director and Chairman of the Board of Conexant Systems, Inc., interim Chief Executive Officer and Director at Adaptec, Inc., and served as the Chief Financial Officer of Western Digital Corporation. Mr. Mercer also held senior operating and finance roles at Dell, Inc., LSI Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mercer has previously held board positions at Palm, Inc., SMART Modular Technologies (WWH), Inc., Alantec Corporation, NetRatings, Inc., and several private companies. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from California Polytechnic University.
