S4M Enables DIY Customization of Media Sales System

Cross media sales software S4AdSales comes with web services interface

(PresseBox) (Köln, ) S4M – Solutions for Media just introduced the latest enhancements of its comprehensive airtime sales software S4AdSales. The newest version of S4AdSales - which is used by broadcasters in Europe, Asia and North America – enables customers to act independently, they can develop applications or let 3rd party companies do so, and they can customize the S4AdSales system themselves.

All of this is possible because of S4AdSales’ most modern architecture. Since the system uses web services technology the development team was able to provide the Media Sales solution with an unprecedented grade of flexibility. This leads to clear benefits for the companies that use S4AdSales:

First, customers can seamlessly integrate their own applications into the system. Users don’t have to switch from one application to another, but they can work within S4AdSales and use 3rd party modules without recognizing that they use additional software.

Second, customers are able to change the GUI. That means if they decide that their business requires new input fields within the user interface it is possible to create those user defined fields easily. And this leads to the third, maybe most important topic:

Web services technology provides for simplicity and approved standards regarding all issues around interfacing. Through the opening of several web services within the S4M solution a seamless data transfer can be guaranteed. This enables customers to get data out of the central S4AdSales system, display them the way they want it, edit them and put the changed data back into S4AdSales. This opens a wide application spectrum.

For example, for reporting purposes data can be exported and used within spreadsheet programs. Individually customized reports then can be realized fast and easy. Or – a further step towards maximized flexibility – customers can use their own applications for special business processes. For instance, it would be possible to employ their own calendar tool (used for the booking of commercial spots), use and process the original S4AdSales data and then put back the results of the proceedings – such as certain commercial spots changed their status – into the S4M system.
