Fully Automatic Machining Further Expanded - New Robot At RUD Unterkochen

(PresseBox) (Aalen, )
Large orders for machined components regularly set the Mountable Lifting Means Division the challenge to fulfil these needs in the lead time expected by the customer. In order to be able to fulfil these requirements, the machining of a series of these components has now been transferred to Production in Unterkochen.

This is achieved as a result of the investment in a new turning/milling centre of the type G220 by the company Index, with which the challenging machining of various parts is possible economically and to the highest quality. Automatic component loading and unloading is integrated in the plant. This allows RUD to operate the machine unmanned for up to one shift. Thanks to the five-axis-compatible motorised milling spindle and a tool turret with Y-axis, the urning milling centre can execute almost any turning and milling process exremely flexibly and is thus predestined for demanding component machining. The compact and user-friendly automated loading and unloading solution could be connected to the turning-milling centre without any problems. Together with the supplier, the entire project was able to be carried out very successfully within 6 months to series release.

This machining centre allows us to increase flexibility and reliability of supply even further. All in all, with this solution RUD have been able to take a further, significant step in the automated processing of complex, highprecision and demanding parts.
