Rogers Corporation to Display Highly Efficient Busbars for Next-Generation EVs and HEVs at The Battery Show 2016

(PresseBox) (At The Battery Show North America, Novi, MI, )
Rogers Corporation’s (NYSE:ROG) Power Electronics Solutions (PES) group will highlight samples of its power-distribution and thermal-management solutions. These compact, light-weight solutions are of particular interest to designers of electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in pursuit of increased driving ranges.

Visitors to The Battery Show North America (http://www.thebatteryshow.com), a leading conference and exhibition for commercial and military battery technologies, will have a chance to learn how Rogers PES ROLINX® CapEasy and ROLINX® CapPerformance capacitor-busbar assemblies can save size, weight, and increase energy while efficiently distributing energy in powertrains for tomorrow’s EVs and HEVs.

Representatives of Rogers PES will be at Booth 1841 to explain the advanced technologies that allow the ROLINX® CapEasy and ROLINX® CapPerformance capacitor-busbar assemblies (www.rolinx.com) to achieve high current capacity with low inductance in power-distribution applications, resulting in low-loss distribution of power in EVs and HEVs.

In addition to EVs and HEVs, ROLINX® CapEasy and ROLINX® CapPerformance capacitor-busbar assemblies are ideal for any power-management application requiring high-power handling capabilities in small, light-weight assemblies, such as in solar-power and wind-power systems. ROLINX CapEasy and ROLINX CapPerformance busbar assemblies benefit from Power Ring Film Capacitor™ technology from SBE, Inc. (www.sbelectronics.com), achieving DC voltage ratings as high as 12 kV with power-handling capabilities to several hundred megawatts.

These reliable, busbar assemblies include metalized polypropylene film capacitors for enhanced power-handling capabilities in compact footprints. The capacitors exhibit low equivalent series inductance (ESL) and resistance (ESR) for low loss and excellent heat-transfer characteristics for effective thermal management in EV and HEV drive trains and other power-distribution applications.

PES curamik® Products on Display Too

Along with these high-power capacitor-busbar assemblies, Rogers PES will also show examples of its curamik® ceramic substrates and curamik® cooling solutions at The Battery Show. These curamik® materials combine ceramic materials capable of withstanding high temperatures with thermally conductive metals, such as pure copper, to provide efficient thermal management in high-power circuits and systems.
