EMAS aims to support companies and other organisations in finding environmentally friendly and resource-conserving approaches to their work without having to sacrifice their competitive performance. To achieve EMAS certification, RÖDER first had to publish an extensive environmental report describing the company’s effects on the environment, the current state of its environmental performance and its short- and long-term objectives in terms of protecting the climate and environment. This environmental report was verified and validated by an independent auditor, allowing RÖDER Zelt- und Veranstaltungsservice GmbH to join the EMAS register and start using the EMAS logo as an official seal of approval to promote RÖDER’s environmental credentials. Compliance with the many different EMAS requirements and implementation of the defined environmental objectives are regularly revised.
‘Being awarded the EMAS seal of approval is an important component of a sustainable, responsible corporate strategy. This certification officially affirms the company philosophy we’ve been incorporating up to now,’ says Thomas Roman, a managing director of the RÖDER Group. ‘The sustainable concept of our structures, whether they are temporary or permanent, not only protects the raw material resources we use but also our customers’ budgets, and makes their planning even more flexible. It is also important for environmental protection and sustainability to not just be concepts on paper, but truly integrated actions carried out by every employee, every day.’
