First Rittal Partner Summit IT

(PresseBox) (Herborn, )
Under the “Discover it” motto, Rittal organized a conference in Herborn for its channel partners from all over Europe. On June 28 and 29, among others IT resellers and system integrators were given an insight into important trends in the data center market and the solutions from Rittal.

“Mutual knowledge and understanding is the key to good and successful cooperation”, with these words, Dr Karl-Ulrich Köhler, CEO of Rittal International, opened Rittal’s first partner conference. The world’s largest rack producer had invited its channel partners to its headquarters in Herborn on 28 and 29 June, in order to demonstrate how partners can position themselves with innovative solutions on the data center market. Dr Köhler appealed to the participants to use the event for one-on-one discussions, as well as to discover opportunities and potential for growth together.

“The Rittal Partner Summit IT was a milestone for our Partner Program. The positive response from our partners to Rittal’s IT strategy and solutions, as well as to the productive discussions, was very important for us. We are looking forward to future growth and success together with every single one of our valuable partners”, said Andrew Grace, Head of Channel Management at Rittal.

The IT industry is undergoing immense structural change

In addition to best practice examples from countries such as Spain, Sweden, Greece and the Netherlands, Rittal partners were able to participate in a series of workshops on such topical issues as the Open Compute Project (OCP), Open 19 and edge computing.

Jason Rylands, Global Director Data Center and Open Compute at Rittal, said in a keynote address on current trends in the data center market that the IT industry was in the midst of an enormous structural change towards cloud computing “as a service”. He added that manufacturing and IT could no longer be considered separately, driven as they were by such issues as Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing. According to Mr Rylands, Rittal had an advantage over other companies in that it was able to rely on its many years of experience, expertise and customers from the manufacturing industry.

The next Rittal Partner Summit IT will take place in June 2018.
