As of May 2nd 2019, Jordi Barreiros is appointed the new Branch Manager for Riege Software in Switzerland. Jordi is a qualified expert in Customs and Foreign Trade and brings with him a wide range of transport and logistics experience. This appointment reinforces Riege's progress in growing Scope which is their digital logistics platform.
“Our goal in Switzerland is capitalizing on our expertise and references in order to increase the Scope customer base beyond the traditional forwarding industry. Jordi's user experience and his associated network of importers creates ideal conditions for achieving this goal,” says Dr. Tobias Riege, CEO of Riege Software.
Jordi originally hails from Spain and has two mother tongues, Spanish and German. He also speaks Swiss German, English and French. Highly motivated and qualified, Jordi will certainly translate Riege's strategy into success. “Facilitating local expertise to foster global growth is part of the positioning of Scope which is 100% consistent with my objective targets,” says Jordi Barreiros. “The increasing need for customers not only to implement digital processes but also to understand them for future initiatives creates perfect conditions to achieve the goals we have set ourselves for the Swiss market.”
This applies in particular to customs clearance. Since Scope covers all e-dec and the Swiss Transit (NCTS) procedures, forwarders as well as consignees can transmit customs declarations directly from a shipment within Scope or from its seamless integration into existing ERP/WM systems. Due to Switzerland’s specific independent status in Europe the demand for this is particularly high.
Jordi Barreiros takes over from Andreas Fenner, who is withdrawing for health reasons after 10 years as branch manager for Riege in Switzerland. “Andreas has been with us from the very beginning. He built the business basically from scratch, therefore we owe him a lot and wish him all the best, especially good health,” says Dr. Riege, and Jordi Barreiros adds, “Taking over from Andreas and what he has built up, is the perfect foundation to successfully proceed, and at the same time a commitment to further growth.”
