The goal of the installation was to establish independent audio networks for each of the five congress rooms that are interconnected to a larger audio network. The installation is equipped with 38 analog and digital I/Os and 25 expansion cards for Yamaha mixing consoles. Each network consists of a FOH, a stage, a play out area including a DSP rack and a mobile mixing facility. The networking between the devices and the seperate networks is realized via ICM's already installed fiber network and newly installed fiber cabling. 40 fiber converters help to bridge the large distances within the ICM.
All five RockNet networks are connected to the master control room. This way the whole audio network can be controlled from a centralized point as well as independent of each other.
"Maximum flexibility was the most important factor for us. RockNet allows for a large variety of setups and applications without the need to rewire the whole system," said Christian Müller, Chief Technician at ICM.
