Bei seiner jüngsten Extremsportaktivität wurde Remmers-Markenbotschafter Joey Kelly abrupt ausgebremst: Eigentlich wollte der Musiker und Extremsportler als einer von 46 Teilnehmern beim Nordpolmarathon, dem nördlichsten Lauf-Event der Welt, starten. Zusammen mit seinem Sohn Luke war er auch bereits nach Spitzbergen gereist, wo die ersten Trainingseinheiten bei eiskalten Temperaturen absolviert wurden. Doch mit den 42 Kilometern auf zugefrorenem Gewässer wurde es dann doch nichts, da der Veranstalter aufgrund logistischer Probleme einen Rückzieher machte. Der Lauf zum Nordpol steht aber fest in Joey Kellys Terminkalender: Im kommenden Jahr will der Remmers-Markenbotschafter einen neuen Versuch starten – dann hoffentlich mit einer funktionierenden Organisation.
