Germanischer Lloyd, the world-renowned classification society for the maritime sector, has tested and certified RELIUS coating systems for offshore wind turbines. This makes RELIUS the first company to receive the coveted certification in this area.
As one of Europe's leading producers of industrial coatings and construction paints, with years of experience in maritime corrosion protection, RELIUS offers a complete program for the technically and ecologically sensitive offshore wind turbines, which are often subjected to extreme impacts. The key to effective corrosion protection of offshore objects is high-build, elastic and in turn, highly abrasion-resistant coatings. For a number of years, RELIUS has also established a reputation as a specialist for coating wind turbines and has invested this experience in the development of new products for reliable protection of offshore wind power stations. And that meant that RELIUS was the first manufacturer to present complete systems for the protection of offshore wind turbines at the Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology international trade fair (SMM) in Hamburg.
In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute, Germanischer Lloyd subjected the products and systems to a long-term test over several years examining their effectiveness, reliability and durability.

On September 26, Peter Fischer, head of BASF's Industrial Coatings division and Klaus Buck, head of the application center for protective coatings, accepted the certificate at the RELIUS booth at the SMM trade fair.
