relatio presents the world's first data logger with an innovation guarantee
The 'fieldLog' data logger has already been a highlight at previous exhibitions. The data logger, developed by relatio, differentiated itself from competitors right from the start by providing more accurate and up-to-date data. During the 12 months since the last Intersolar, relatio's fieldLog developers have successfully come up with something new: an updated version that no longer requires any kind of portal, meaning that no data is passed to third parties. This offers huge benefits to all users: whilst the use of portals means that data passes into unknown hands, with this system the user has total control over the information.
The Managing Director of relatio, Bernd Bodmer, attaches great importance to this precise feature: "from the client's point of view, there are many downsides to a portal solution: what happens if the data is not secure? Or if the manufacturer suddenly demands large sums of money to provide the portal service? Or if one wants to switch after a few years because a better solution has come on to the market? We don't want our clients to be permanently tied to a single manufacturer, for better or for worse." With fieldLog, users can make their own decisions.
But this is not all that fieldLog has to offer: it is also the first data logger with an innovation guarantee. The manufacturer relatio guarantees that the version of fieldLog that is current at any given time will always offer the greatest range of functionality in its particular price category. If another device should come on to the market offering more functionality than fieldLog in the same price class, the relatio product will be upgraded within three months to include at least the same range of functions (details of the innovation guarantee can be found at the end of this press release.)
fieldLog 2.0 now also enables the experience gained from monitoring and managing multimegawatt solar power plants to be made available for smaller rooftop installations. The new fieldLog integrates the company's accumulated expertise and all the data is prepared for the user in a format that does not require any special knowledge.
"The new fieldLog 2.0 can do more" - a claim that is confirmed by everyone who has had the opportunity to test the newest version. And the company's trade fair stand reflects this: an interested young lady makes no secret of the fact that she learns more from fieldLog than from her husband. "fieldLog tells me so much more" is thus the powerful slogan for this new premium product, and it is plastered in large letters across the exhibition stand. Visitors will be able to test out fieldLog's versatility for themselves - access can be tested from a PC, smartphone, iPad and the new fieldPad at the trade fair stand.
The developers have placed particular emphasis on data validity and security. It is not necessary to install any local software in order to access fieldLog - it simply requires a browser. The product's flexibility has also been further optimised: fieldLog is compatible with all standard power inverters and measuring devices, making it suitable for retrospectively upgrading existing systems. There is also particular focus on system revenue optimisation. For this reason, fieldLog offers a wide range of easy-to-understand analysis tools, which make it possible to detect and eliminate weak points in systems more easily. Each fieldLog device can manage up to 240 power inverters. From version 2.0 onwards, fieldLog is available in four different performance categories - meaning that there is a fieldLog available for every system and for every configuration requirement.

The innovation guarantee relates to comparable devices (data loggers for photovoltaic systems) which are available to both private and large commercial clients. This comparison only applies to the same price category. The term 'functionality' refers to the functionality of the software used on the device to indicate specific physical properties of the photovoltaic system to which it is connected.
