Ai's New Collimated Back Light for machine-vision applications

Collimation greatly enhances edge detection of curved surfaces

München, (PresseBox) - Advanced illumination (Ai) introduces the CB0404, a new collimated light option for back lighting applications. Well-suited to high-precision gauging and placement inspections, the CB0404 is designed to provide more accurate edge location than standard back lights, especially for objects with curved surfaces. The light has an active area of 4” x 4”. For larger collimated back lights, Ai also offers the CBXXYY – customized sizes built in 1” increments up to 16” x 16”.

Ai’s standard model CB0404-WHIIC is a white light that incorporates an Inline Current Source (iCS) driver in the light’s power cable. The iCS provides stable current levels to the light, as well as manual intensity control, and external control of the on/off gating feature for the light. In addition to white, available colors are blue (470nm), green (520nm), red (660nm), and infra-red (880nm); power options include Ai connectors (DC and high-performance strobe controllers), 24v flying leads, iCS, and iSU (Inline Strobe Unit). The integrated M6 nut channel and included brackets provide for easy and secure mounting.

Advanced illumination is a lighting solutions company, designing and manufacturing a broad range of LED lights and supporting electronics, primarily for use in machine vision applications. AI specialize in creating tailored lighting products, providing customized versions of standard product line to fit individual requirements.
