Detection, Evaluation and Elimination of Particulate Contamination on Components and Implants

rap.ID at parts2clean 2015 - Hall 6 D45

Berlin, (PresseBox) - The modern production-related laboratory demands high automation along with maximum dependability of the technology in use.

rap.ID combines in their self-developed analytical systems, a highly automized optical microscope with Laser Induced Plasma Spectroscopy (LIBS) and/or Raman Spectroscopy, to detect and identify particulate matter.

Learn more about rap.ID's technology in the Expert Forum at the parts2clean in Stuttgart, Germany. Listen to the presentation of Stefan Wald on Thursday, June 11th at 11 o'clock:

Advanced Analytical Methods in VDA 19 - Spirit And Purpose of the Combination of multiple methods.

The benefits are obvious: Size, form and color of the particulate matter is determined rapidly and reproducibly as well as information about abrasiveness and conductivity. The knowledge about the material makes the tracking for and removal of the origin easier and quicker.

The elegance, uniqueness and dependability of rap.ID's automated systems is constituted in the sum of three findings: the granulometric analysis, the LIBS analysis and the Raman analysis.

rap.ID Particle Systems GmbH

Over the last two decades rap.ID has been involved in the development and amelioration of a new class of industrialized micro-particle identification systems. We have developed an automated system that is able to find and identify particles within minutes. The Single Particle Explorer (SPE) is able to gather morphological information and determine the chemical composition of organic, inorganic, and metal particles. Without any user interaction, the system initially gathers information on particle number, size and shape, then later uniquely applies micro Raman and/or Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) on the individual particles to reveal their composition. It is the only automated system available that combines both spectroscopic techniques with advanced image analysis to identify particles as small as 2ɥm. Intelligent chemo-metric algorithms match each individual particle's spectroscopic fingerprint with a control spectra in a reference library, thereby identifying the particle and ultimately determining the source.
